Position: |
Leadership Academy Program and Event Planning |
Responsibilities: |
Back by popular demand, IABC Minnesota is again hosting its Leadership Academy in 2008. We’re looking for two volunteers to help with the program and event planning. The dates for the 2008 Leadership Academy are yet to be determined, but will take place sometime in first quarter (last year it was held over two half-day sessions in March). The Leadership Academy is designed to help communication professionals explore, tap into and unleash their vast leadership potential, regardless of their title or position on an org chart.
Two opportunities available:
- Publicity coordinator (designing, writing all promotional materials, working with the print vendor, etc.)
- Event coordinator (select location and coordinate all logistics)

Time Commitment: |
Work with the committee begins immediately. Time commitment depends on each committee role. The majority of the work however, will fall in the December to March timeframe. |

Position: |
Corporate Membership Internal Welcome Meeting Manager |
Responsibilities: |
Help welcome new, renewing and potential corporate members to IABC. We are seeking a volunteer to work with businesses to coordinate 5-7 Welcome Meetings in 2008.
The position involves phone and e-mail communication as you coordinate dates that work for both organizations’ employees and IABC leadership. We have many tools to help you with this volunteer role. Your volunteer commitment will involve supporting the first IABC MN Corporate Membership Chair with this exciting and quickly growing area of membership.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working on event related projects, and it’s a great way to expand your network. |

Work begins immediately. There is much to do in the first few months of 2008. |

Position: |
Bronze Quill Event Planners |
Responsibilities: |
The IABC Minnesota Awards Gala Committee is gearing up for a spectacular awards season this fall, culminating in an Awards Gala in February. We need a few good people who want to sink their teeth into a professional development opportunity – and have some fun, too.
This committee will plan and implement IABC Minnesota's annual Bronze Quill Awards Program and Gala, a program that showcases the work of top communications professionals in Minnesota. The committee meets once a month through February (and as needed in smaller groups).
Roles include event planners and lead event planner.

Volunteers for Upcoming Internal Communications Conference
Our third annual internal communications conference is coming soon. Chair/co-chairs and committee members are needed to plan this high-visibility event. It’s an excellent professional development opportunity and a great way to connect with other IABC members.

Responsibilities: |
Seasoned communicator(s) who knows what it takes to pull off a high-profile event. A keen interest in internal communications and an understanding of what it takes to put a conference program together. Strong organizational and delegation skills are essential. |
Time Commitment: |
Five-month commitment required, September through January. Five hours for the first two months, 10 hours for the second two months, 15 hours in the month leading up to the event. |

Sponsorship/Business Partnership Team |
Responsibilities: |
We’re looking for 3-4 people to join the team to work on developing and implementing business partnerships for IABC Minnesota. Several of the positions are more tactical (e.g., paperwork, monitoring deliverables, sending thank yous) and several are more big-picture strategy, identifying and pitching potential sponsors. |

2 to 5 hours per month |
