You don't have to be a boss to be a leader. Make IABC Leadership Academy part of your personal development plan.
Do you manage a team or direct the work of others in your organization? Do you not yet directly manage others, but are working to develop the skills needed to move into a leadership role within your organization? Have you read one (or more) of the best-selling management books, but are looking for a hands-on approach that can help you become the leader you're destined to be?
If you can answer yes to even one of these questions, the IABC Leadership Academy is for you. This four-part workshop is held annually by popular demand—members attending previous sessions ranked it as one of the most beneficial professional development series they had ever attended.
Here is what one graduate has to say, which reflects the opinions of many who have participated in the program.
"Attending the IABC Minnesota Leadership Academy is a bit like sculpting something out of ice. Your leadership talents are already there, you just need to take a chisel and whittle away. IABC Minnesota Leadership Academy gave me the tools I needed to carve out my own leadership skills and find ways to display them."
Ann Krzmarzick Marketing Communications Manager Endocardial Solutions (Ann went on to become IABC Minnesota chapter president after attending the Academy)
The Leadership Academy is a hands-on workshop that will help you identify your strengths and weaknesses in leadership and then help you create a personal plan to enhance your performance. You will gain insight into how others perceive your leadership behavior, plus ideas for sharing your skills within your organization and within IABC.
Registration for the 2006 Leadership Academy is now open. Click here to register. Sessions will be held on March 1, 8, 15, and 22. For more information, contact Teresa Novacek at (651) 662-1305 or teresa_novacek@bluecrossmn.com.
